'Devilish chaos' bowl by Toots Zynsky

Bowl, 'Devilish chaos', glass, made by Toots Zynsky, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 1995

A deep bowl of an irregular shape rising from a small circular foot and progressing into a wide flaring rim. The rim gently undulating in irregular vertical folds. Made from fused and slumped Venetian glass threads coloured in black, orange, yellow, pale pink and icy blue. The threads of glass have been laid side by side to form strips of one colour. Each of these strips is then overlaid, one on top of another at different angles to create a patchwork effect. The interior of icy blue. Makers mark on base.
