Australian Flight

View Objects
Since Lawrence Hargrave made his historic flight in his box-kite at Stanwell Park near Wollongong New South Wales in 1894 Australians have been keen and innovative flyers. From single-seater hobby aircraft to international passenger flight, Australians have been in the air for over a hundred years.

The aircraft on display at the Powerhouse Museum are significant examples of pioneering leaps in the history of Australian flight.
