Planetary orrery by W Harris & Co

Planetary orrery on wooden base which stands on three legs. The top of the base has a pictorial representation of the sky from the southern limit of the zodiac to the north celestial pole. The orrery itself is of brass with the planets and moons of ivory. The Sun is represented by a brass ball, the Earth by a miniature terrestrial globe. Additional brass gearing enables the Moon to move about the Earth. The planets Mercury to Uranus are represented, Jupiter with four moons, Saturn with seven and Uranus with six (most unusual).
