The Museum of Applied Arts and Sciences acknowledges Australia’s First Nations Peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land and gives respect to the Elders – past and present – and through them to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are advised that the MAAS website contains a range of Indigenous Cultural Material. This includes artworks, artifacts, images and recordings of people who may have passed away, and other objects which may be culturally sensitive.

The Moon is our closest other world, a constant companion in the solar system. Inspiring poems, storytelling, innovation and technology over hundreds of years, it wasn’t until 1969 that the dream of spaceflight to the Moon was achieved.

See these objects from the collection in Riverside Theatres during the Sydney Festival in January 2019.

Visit the Powerhouse Museum from June for more exciting stories celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
