Physical Description

Lion figures, pair, press-moulded [stoneware], each lion with thick curly mane depicted in a couchant pose resting on a stepped oval base with head erect and fore-paws extended, hand incised detail and covered in a mottled dark blue and mid blue lead glaze, the unglazed base with recessed cavity.

Marks

Marks:incised makers marks "B O'BRIEN" under the base of each.Lyons list notes that the lion figures are possibly the work of a member of the Adelaide Potters Club.
