AtomoRapidTM, COVID-19 (IgG/IgM) Rapid Antibody Test

This COVID-19 antibody test utilises Atomo Diagnostics rapid blood sampling device to return a positive or negative result fifteen minutes after testing. It tests against two different immune responses the IgM antibody, which appears to peak two weeks after exposure to the virus SARS-CoV-2 and the IgG antibody, which peaks at 3 weeks. Physical Description

The AtomoRapidTM, COVID-19 (IgG/IgM) Rapid Antibody Test, comes in a branded cardboard box.
It has a white plastic cover with a grey button at one end that contains a lancet for pricking the finger. To prevent unintended depression of the lancet a green plastic tab holds it in place. Above the lancet is the micro-sampling tool on a hinged plastic arm. This tube can be rotated on its support arm to deposit the blood sample onto the test strip. Below the test strip is a window that will display the test results, it is marked with a ‘T’ and a ‘C’.

To test for SARS-CoV-2 viral antibodies, the user removes the green sterility tab and massages the finger to achieve better blood flow. Then they push the grey button to prick the finger and deposit blood into the micro-sampling tube. When the tube is full, the user flips the tube over so the blood flows into the sample well. They then add four drops of test fluid and wait for 15 minutes to read the result. This is a single use device.

One to three lines will appear in the test window. If one line shows up next to the ‘C’ the test was negative. A positive result can be returned in three ways, by detecting IgM, IgG or a combination of the two antibodies together.
