The iXY is a high-quality stereo microphone designed for use with the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It incorporates a pair of condenser microphones in a stacked X-Y configuration to provide immersive, true-to-life stereo recordings. Physical Description

RØDE iXY directional stereo microphone designed for use with iPhone, iPad and iPod in retail packaging. It consists of a pair of microphones in a clear plastic container with instructions, a black zip opening case and a black foam wind shield. The container sits within a cardboard sleeve that has information about the microphone. It is accompanied by a calico carry bag with the RODE logo.

This object was lent to the Museum for display in the 2013 Australian International Design Awards exhibition from July 2013 - June 2014.

In 2013 the iXY received an Australian International Design Award and a Red Dot Design Award.

RØDE Microphones received NSW Premier's Export Awards, Exporter of the Year (2012) and and Manufacturing Award (2012 -2013) and Australia Unlimited Australian Export Awards Manufacturing Award (2013).
