A small epergne (table centrepiece) fabricated in electroplated nickel silver in two parts: a fruit bowl and vase. The fruit bowl can be used separately or combined with the trumpet-shaped vase ( by attaching it in the centre of the bowl) to form an epergne for holding both fruits and flowers. The fruit bowl has a shallow bowl and tall spreading foot.

This epergne for flowers and fruit was among the tableware commissioned in the 1930s by New South Wales Government Railways for their elegant refreshment rooms including those at Gosford, Junee, Coffs Harbour, Taree and Albury.
