Physical Description

Catalogues, Wunderlich catalogues, paper/cardboard/cloth/leather, Wunderlich Limited, Redfern, New South Wales, Australia, 1895 - 1916

Bound set of Wunderlich catalogues with 'Wunderlich Record Catalogues' stamped in gold lettering on the spine. The catalogues reflect the evolution of the Wunderlich business from its early establishment at Redfern as The Wunderlich Patent Ceiling and Roofing Company Limited through to its maturation as Wunderlich Limited which by World War I was the major manufacturer and supplier of interior and exterior building decoration products within Australia for commercial buildings, public buildings and private homes. The catalogues provide detailed information about the Wunderlich range including design numbers, dimensions, prices and telegraphic code names thus enabling the researcher to date when a certain product was introduced. They are extensively illustrated with halftone photographs, illustrations, and design drawings. There price lists have also been bound with the catalogues. It appears that this volume was originally located in the offices of the Wunderlich brothers and used by them for reference copy as annotations state that it was not to be removed from the area at any time. The binding consists of brown cloth covered boards with quarter bound brown leather spine and corners. 'WUNDERLICH/RECORD/CATALOGUES/1895-1916' in gold lettering on spine.
