Physical Description

Catalogues, Wunderlich catalogues, paper/cardboard/cloth/leather, Wunderlich Limited, Redfern, New South Wales, Australia, 1895 - 1921

Bound set of Wunderlich catalogues and catalogue supplements. The catalogues reflect the evolution of the Wunderlich business from its early establishment at Redfern as The Wunderlich Patent Ceiling and Roofing Company Limited through to its maturation as Wunderlich Limited which by the time of the issue of the last catalogue in this set was the major manufacturer and supplier of interior and exterior building decoration products within Australia for commercial buildings, public buildings and private homes. The catalogues provide detailed information about the Wunderlich range including design numbers, dimensions, and sometimes prices thus enabling the researcher to date when a certain product was introduced. They are extensively illustrated with halftone photographs, illustrations, and design drawings. The binding consists of maroon cloth covered boards with quarter bound black leather spine and corners. A typed sheet headed 'CATALOGUE "A"', which lists the contents of the volume, has been stuck on the fly leaf.
