What better symbol of the swinging sixties could there be than the futuristic ‘Globe’ chair? Made of fibreglass, aluminium, foam and velvet its bright colour and Space Age shape marked the arrival of an adventurous new look. The ‘Globe’ was designed in Finland by Eero Aarnio in 1966 and made by Asko Finnternational in 1967. Eero Aarnio is an important Finnish designer who created some the most striking chairs of the decade.
