Scribbly Graphics girls sundress and hat

Consisting of a kangaroo-print sundress and matching hat, this girl's outfit was designed by graphic artist, Adrienne Higgs, as part of her range of children's clothing, called 'Scribbly Graphics'. She established the company in 1978, designing printed paper items before turning to fabric printing in the early 1980s. In 1987, Higgs' husband, Norman, joined the business to manage production. A girl's sleeveless, loose fitting sundress in pink cotton with a screenprinted design of dark pink kangaroos. The shoulders fasten with pink buttons. The dress is machine sewn and unlined. The dress is a size 1.

A broad-rimmed sun hat in pink cotton with a screen-printed kangaroo pattern in dark pink. The crown is made from a series of triangular panels. The hat is machine sewn and unlined. The hat is size small.

Dress: white fabric label inside centre back 'SCRIBBLY/GRAPHICS/AUSTRALIA/1'. White fabric label in same place 'COTTON...care instructions...MADE IN AUSTRALIA'. Blue and white printed cardboard swing tag attached to fabric labels 'AUSTRALIAN DESIGN FOR AUSTRALIAN KIDS/SCRIBBLY/visit us at www.scribbly.com.au'.
