Adelaide jeweller, Julie Blyfield, made these three pod-like forms in 2003 and 2004 as part of her 'Flourish' series. The work reflects Blyfield's interest in her family history, particularly its six generations of gardening enthusiasts, her love of collecting and passion for gardening and botany. Forms (3), from the 'Flourish' series, silver / oxidised copper, designed and made by Julie Blyfield, Gray Street Workshop, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, 2003 - 2004

Physical Description

Three pod-like forms of different shapes and sizes, two of which are made from silver, the other from oxidised copper. Each form has been produced using the methods of raising and chasing to create the different shapes and surface textures. The bottle-shaped form has a Fortuny-like pleated / ribbed affect on the external surface, the round silver vessel is decorated with tiny linear markings, while the egg shaped form has more of a dotted affect on the surface.
