Cotton gauze surgical mask

This mask predates disposable surgical masks and is believed to date from the owner's days as a nurse in Holland between around 1920 and 1950.

Physical Description

The mask consists of a rectangle of double thickness cotton gauze, apparently machine stitched. At each corner there is a length of white cotton tape, hemmed at the end.
