Silver gelatin dry plate glass negative in landscape format. The image depicts a garden scene. The location of the garden is unknown but it may be the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney. A group of women and children are depicted in the centre of the image. The group is standing on a pathway within the gardens. Sandstone and iron gates are depicted in the centre right of the image. Part of a building can be seen in the centre left of the image. A man is depicted sitting on a wooden bench, reading a newspaper near the building. The foreground of the image depicts a pathway and vegetation within the gardens. Another building can be seen within the gardens in the background of the image. The building is two-storey with a high pitched roof and verandahs. A small rotunda can be seen in the grounds near the building. Houses, cleared land, fences and horsedrawn vehicles can be seen outside the gardens in the background on the right side of the image. Large trees including pine trees and eucalyptus trees can be seen throughout the image. The caption, studio mark and studio number are inscribed on the reverse of the negative.
