Slip on shoes, pair, womens, silk brocade / leather / brass, made by Gundry & Sons, London, England, c1839
Pair of womens slip on shoes of turnshoe construction with pointed toes and stacked heels with 3 lifts. Shoes consist of ivory and gold silk brocade uppers in a diamond pattern with square throat, oblique side seams, back seam and bound top edge, lined with linen and kid. Uppers are decorated with a silk bow at the throat and leather heels are edged with brass nails. The shoes are an imitation medieval style, possibly for fancy dress.Marks
