This collection of costumes and accessories was designed and made by Gretel Pinniger, also known as 'Madame Lash' in Sydney in 1981.

History

Notes

The majority of this collection of costumes and accessories was created specifically for the exhibition 'The Fabric of History: Chapter Two' that was held at the exhibition centre, ANZ bank in Martin Place, Sydney in July 1981. The exhibition was curated by Elinor Wrobel (donor) for The Textile Museum of Australia Association.

Some items were also stock lines from Gretel Pinniger's store 'Game Birds' that was located at 108 Oxford Street, Paddington, Sydney.
