The knitted coat is part of a women's ensemble designed by Jenny Kee and made by Jan Ayres for Flamingo Park. The cardigan-style coat has short sleeves, a round neck, a front buttoning closure and a ribbed band at the bottom. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is depicted in black across the centre front. A stylised white Australia shape, crossed by a black diagonal line, lies on the right breast. Two parallel, diagonal lines, one black, one white, lie on the left breast. A band of blue runs beneath the Bridge representing the sea. The Harbour Bridge design extends around under the arm to the back of the dress. A design of the Sydney Opera House runs across the centre back in white, with the band of blue sea continuing below. A stylised black outline of Australia is on the left shoulder blade, crossed by a diagonal black line. Two parallel white lines slant across the left shoulder blade. The dress has a border of white rectangular shapes against a black ground on the neck and arms. The ribbed band at the bottom carrys a similar black and white border. This design is repeated down each side of the centre front opening with blue plastic buttons running down one side of the border. A pocket has been inset into both side seams.

Marks

The dress bears a pink satin rectangular maker's label handsewn on the neckline with the text 'Jan / Ayres / FOR / FLAMINGO / PARK / SYDNEY' in black print.
The label features a stylised line drawing of a womans face. Sewn to the side and under the maker's label is a white fabric label bearing the text 'DRY CLEAN ONLY' in black print.
