Black and white gelatin photographic print, vertical format on gloss paper with white border, photographer embossed on lower right corner, title of photograph typed on paper and stuck to lower left corner. Photograph depicts Arthur as Jandy the clown performing the 'dead cat' act on a stage in front of a stage curtain. He is in white faced makeup with a skull cap and red pom pom, dressed in a clown suit with appliqued decoration in sequins and metallic thread, similar to those of 95/28/1:2 and white sandshoes. Jandy is standing in front of a metal stand with a velvet and fringed banner appliqued with Do-Re-Mi notes and a lyre. Jandy is holding a 'dead' prop cat (95/28/65) in his left hand and in his right hand a starter's pistol (95/28/66). The photograph depicts the end of the act when Jandy shoots at birds in the trees and a dead cat falls at his feet. This act was a feature of his performances at the Tivoli in Sydney.
