The Museum has an extensive collection of Speedo swimwear and accessories dating from the 1930s to the present including designs produced for the Australian Olympic Games team from 1964 to 2004, the Australian Commonwealth Games team from 1970-2002 and numerous international Olympic teams. This collection is complemented by the Speedo archive which includes scrapbooks, catalogues, posters, newsletters, stickers, photographs, video footage and badges.

Woman's swimsuit, 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, as used by the Australian Team, nylon / lycra, Speedo Australia Pty Ltd, Australia, 1988.

Nylon / lycra maillot style with high cut leg and 'super back' cross over straps, green ground with stylised platypus motifs in gold and 'australia' printed in white. The upper front and straps in yellow, printed in green with a shield featuring a kangaroo and the Olympic rings and inscribed 'SPEEDO / AUSTRALIA / 1988'.

Printed cardboard tags attached. One printed with boomerang logo and 'SPEEDO / STYLE 66548 / SIZE 12 / MISSES / COLOUR 172' with promotional information on the reverse. Second tag printed with logo and name, inscribed in black ink with '1988 / SEOUL / OLYMPIC GAMES / PLATYPUS' NYLON/LYCRA / SUPER BACK MISSES 12'.
