Rectangular, vertical format, bound, with hard cover of plain brown cloth, containing 223 pages, with text and illustrations from photographs, concerning the Australasian Antarctic Expedition, 1911-1914, in which Laseron took part.
(Part 2) Cover, paper, loose sleeve, folds over outside of hard cover, features a black and white image of Mawson and party at the Antarctic, the title and author's name are printed above this, in blue and white lettering.
