Poster, health, 'Condoman', screenprint, ink / paper, designed by Michael Callaghan and Paul Cockram at Redback Graphix for the Commonwealth Department of Community Services and Health, Annandale, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1987, four colour print, portrait format, depicting Condoman: an Aboriginal / Indigenous Australian superhero loosely based on 'the ghost who walks'. His mission is safe sex: the advocacy of condoms. This man wears: a red stretch top with an attached close fitting cap; black and red diagonally striped underpants over yellow tights; and around his waist a thick black belt with the letter 'C' on its yellow triangle buckle. Here he is standing by the ocean, bush over his right shoulder, ready to leap into action. He holds in his right hand a packet of condoms.
Large yellow comic book style text heads the poster: 'CONDOMAN', followed on the same line in smaller black text by 'SAYS:'. In a voice bubble at centre right he says: 'DON'T BE / SHAME / BE GAME'. Then, in the lower fifth of the poster, in black text in a white frame, 'USE CONDOMS'. Two-centimetre white border surrounds image.
